Designed and constructed as a project for 1st year studio, the Span project exemplifies Vitruvius's 3 criteria for good design - Longevity, Strength and Beauty. It has been designed to look like a single piece of wood twirling and twisting around to come and meet the peers. Focus has been paid to joinery and minimizing the use of glue. No piece is longer than 18", while the span spans 4'. A subset of the shop drawings done for the project have been displayed below as well.
