Who I worked with: Done during my internship at Nudes, under the oversight of firm principle Nuru Karim.

What I learned: This project was an incredible learning experience, never having worked on a full scale building with such responsibility before. I learned how to factor in pragmatic issues that might come up later into the early design process and also how to manage the multiple constraints of site, code, cost and constructibility. The work also involved constant communication with the facade contractor, understanding cost and fabrication constraints and baking that into the design.

What this was: The Regal Shoe Store in Pune, India. The team consisted of myself and an interior designer, where I was responsible for designing the facade and the folding ceiling + staircase. Wanting this project to be a local icon, we decided to make a folding facade with perforations which projected light onto the nearby street. Over my three month internship at Nudes, I oversaw the design, scripting and CD's of this project. It completed construction in December 2017, a few months after I completed my internship.
